Take back the future
what is TBTF?
In 2025 we launched Take Back the Future, a free, international, virtual design sprint exploring bold and regenerative futures for our cities, communities, and planet. Students from around the world collaborated in creative teams to imagine far-future scenarios and co-create innovative visions for Sustainable Futures.
The event was a success — with 118 student participants and 79 Certificates awarded by the end of the sprint. We are currently revising the event for in-person delivery in a condensed format, and also for extended virtual delivery. Let us know if you’d like to have us develop or deliver a TBTF Design Sprint for your group!
why does it matter?
As our world faces compounding social, environmental, and economic crises, we need new ways of thinking. Take Back the Future invites students to engage in collective imagination, build global connections, and contribute their voices to conversations about what comes next.
